Silverton Vets Paignton: call 01803 558588
The main Silverton Vets surgery at Grosvenor Road consists on the ground floor of two examination rooms, two fully equipped operating theatres with modern anaesthetic machines, separate cat and dog wards, X-ray department and a laboratory with an electronic blood analysing machine. We have a wide range of diagnostic and surgical equipment including an endoscopy unit, ultrasound, diathermy, and ultrasonic tooth scalers and polishers.
The middle floor houses the offices and above here is the staff accommodation.
There are separate cat and dog wards with safe comfortable kennels and cages. Generally, the practice policy is to return patients to their home environment as soon as possible after surgery. However, after major surgery or in acutely ill medical cases, patients may be hospitalised and supervised by the veterinary surgeon “on call”. Our nurses are available to provide 24 hour intensive care if appropriate.
Our blood analyser will give us results of a range of blood tests within a twenty minutes. Other tests available look for problems in urine and skin samples together with tests for feline leukaemia and feline immunodeficiency viruses. An outside laboratory is used for more complicated testing and for histopathology.
Blood tests may be suggested to check the state of health of older animals prior to routine surgery.
